The labor movement has historically been a beacon for improved workplace conditions and has helped to make tremendous strides toward improving the lives of millions of workers. Still, most experts agree that much work is left to be done when it comes to addressing alcohol and drug addiction issues as they relate to occupational health and well-being. The show will look at occupations most at risk for substance abuse and discuss what labor organizations can do to help their ranks fully address these issues.
Host: Ivette Torres, Associate Director for Consumer Affairs, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)
Invited Panelists: Robert Lindsey, President, National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (NCADD);
