Hands Arcoss the Bridge 2006
Description
On Labor Day, hundreds of Oregon and Washington residents will celebrate recovery from alcohol and drug addiction when they join hands to span the Interstate 5 Bridge connecting the states of Oregon and Washington. The fifth annual Hands Across the Bridge event, set for 10-noon on Monday, Sept. 4, with ceremonies on both the Portland and Vancouver sides of the Columbia, kicks off National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month. Last years event drew around 1500 participants whose lives had been touched by addiction and recovery. This years event will be followed with Oxfest Celebration,(Oxford Houses) with food, entertainment, booths, games and more! Hands Across the Bridge is sponsored by: The Recovery Association Project

Asian Community of Recovery Network (ACORN) will hold a Recovery Information and Education Fair at its Recovery Center, targeting the Asian Pacific American community. By putting a face on the power of recovery they will lead by example that recovery is not only real but possible.
