2006 Recovery & Wellness Resource Fair
Description
In conjunction with National Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Month, the theme for this years event is Join the Voices for Recovery: Build a Stronger, Healthier Community. On Tuesday September 19, 2006, the City of Portland Public Health Division's Overdose Prevention Project will be holding our event at Preble Street Resource Center. The event will serve to inform and educate participants, as well as providers, about recovery-oriented resources and health-promotion related services. One of our goals, as a committee and, as members of Portlands diverse community, is to create opportunities for people to get what they need in order to establish more stable and healthy lifestyles. We will be providing free health screenings (blood pressure, dental, HIV, etc), free food and plenty of information! We hope this occasion offers an opportunity for us to reach out to those in need while at the same time, meet other providers and share information as we all continue to make progress through our collaborations and partnerships.
