- EPA is awarding fellowships for both the 2008 and 2009 academic years from the pool of applications received from the 2008 Request for Applications (RFA). Those award recommendations have been made, recipients were notified, and the awards are being processed for both the 2008 and 2009 academic years. EPA will not issue a new RFA for the STAR Fellowship Program for the 2009 academic year. This decision allows the Agency to maintain a high quality program and maximize its efficiency, while continuing to make fellowships available to deserving students. EPA remains committed to the goal of developing and training the next generation of environmental professionals to help solve complex environmental problems. EPA expects the 2010 Academic Year STAR Fellowship RFA to open in the summer of 2009.
