Academy for Educational Development

AED has been engaged in leadership development programs for more than 25 years, ranging from international exchanges and study tours to degree and technical training programs to fellowships for students and professionals. These programs are among the most valuable instruments of transformational change and, with the support of governments and foundations, are taking on a new level of importance in countries around the world, both developing and developed.

AED’s democracy-building and civil society development programs around the world have helped citizens monitor and influence government activities, defend minority and women’s rights, ferret out corruption, and promote conflict resolution. In addition to activities that are specifically designed to build democracy, programs often strengthen civil society through coalition building, grant making, advocacy training, organizational development, or civic education campaigns.
