Performance Measurement
Performance Measurement
Tools
FHWA is working to develop goals and performance measures for
work zone mobility and safety. This is a continuously evolving activity
and includes the development of tools to measure congestion and crash
reduction in work zones.
Work Zone Self-Assessment
Work zones are one of FHWA's Congestion Vital Few focus areas. The Work
Zone Self-Assessment Tool is used to measure progress, Nationally and
within States, in anticipating and mitigating congestion caused by highway
work zones.
Performance Measurement Examples
This page contains examples from State DOTs and other organizations
that have developed tools or produced reports related to work zone performance
measures.
I-95 Corridor Coalition Performance Measures Course
The I-95 Corridor Coalition Performance Measures Task Force has facilitated the development of a Performance Measures Course that is now available on the Coalition web site. The course was developed by the I-95 Corridor Coalition and the Consortium for ITS Training and Education (CITE). A significant portion of the course content was based on work by the Performance Measures Task Force through its research and sharing of best practices in Performance Measures, including a web cast held in October 2006.
