Chair

Robert A. Easter
Dean, College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences
University of Illinois

Dr. Easter holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from Texas A&M University and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. Prior to assuming his present assignment in 2001, he served as Head of the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois from 1996 to 2001 and as Professor of Swine Nutrition and Management from 1976 to 1996. He has extensive international experience having consulted and lectured in 26 countries.

H. H. Barlow, III

Barren County, KY

Mr. Barlow owns and operate a dairy farm and for the past twenty years he has worked with scores of farmers across South Central and Western Kentucky as an active feed sales representative, helping them with their livestock and cropping enterprises.  He is a present member of Kentucky Dairy Development Council Board, member of Kentucky Agricultural Development Board and member of Kentucky Agricultural Council.  Glasgow, KY, serving South Central KY & Northern TN.  He has been a 4-H Leader since 1973.

Catherine Bertini
Professor of Public Administration
Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs
Syracuse University

For 10 years Ms. Bertini was Executive Director of the UN World Food Program. She also served as Under Secretary General of the United Nations and as USDA Assistant Secretary for Food and Consumer Services. She is the 2003 World Food Prize Laureate.

Allen C. Christensen
Director, Ezra Taft Benson Agriculture and Food Institute
Brigham Young University

From 2001 to present, Dr. Christensen has been Director and the President of the Benson Agriculture and Food Institute Corporation. He has a B.S. from Brigham Young University, 1957; a MS, University of California, Davis, 1960; PhD, Utah State University, 1979. Previously he was Dean of the College of Agriculture and Professor of Animal and Veterinary Sciences at California State University, Pomona, Pomona, California (1964-94).

William DeLauder
President Emeritus
Delaware State University

Dr. DeLauder has degrees in physical chemistry and biochemistry. He has studied at Morgan State and Wayne State Universities, and in France; he taught at North Carolina A&T State University before coming to Delaware State University as President.

Keith W. Eckel
President, Eckel Farms, Inc.
Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania.

Keith W. Eckel is the President of Eckel Farms, Inc. in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. The farm, which produces tomatoes, sweet corn, and pumpkins for fresh market, as well as corn for grain, and wheat, was also a registered dairy farm until 1986.  Mr. Eckel has been active in agriculture at the local, state, and national levels. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Agricultural Land Preservation Board and past member of the Governor's Seasonal Farm Labor Committee.


Timothy A. Rabon
President, Mesa Verde Enterprises, Inc.

Mesa Verde Enterprises, Inc. is a heavy horizontal construction and aggregate manufacturing company. Mr. Rabon is a partner in the Mesa Verde Ranch. The ranch is a family owned and operated cow/calf operation located in Southern New Mexico.
