Web Content Specialist

Reports to: VP, Communications and Membership

Position Overview:
CADCA--a national organization representing over 5,000 community coalitions throughout the country building safe, healthy, drug-free communities--seeks a web content specialist. Major duties include web research, analysis of content and tagging related content, recommending Web 2.0 media applications within Federal guidelines, and developing/writing web content. Having a working knowledge of programs that serve high-risk youth in communities is a definite plus.

The responsibilities and tasks of this position include:
• Working and communicating with technical and non-technical team members
• Conducting research and review of multiple-Web sites
• Digesting large amounts of information and summarizing into clear points
• Conducting preliminary website audits
• Preparing online user surveys
• Researching topics for Web 2.0 strategies allowable by .gov Web site

Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
• Clean design and writing for the Web.
• Knowledge and skills for using new media effectively including social media tools: blogs, wikis, social networking sites, social bookmarking, RSS feeds and virtual worlds, widgets, social bookmarking e.g., del.icio.us, Podcast production, and other social networking sites (e.g. YouTube and MySpace, Facebook, etc,)
• Knowledge of and ability to implement best practices for intended media audiences
• Knowledge and understanding of the following are a plus:
    - HTML/CSS
    - ImageReady, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks
    - MySql databases
    - .NET, Flash, ActionScript
    - Audio capture/editing software e.g., Audacity, Final Cut Pro, etc
    - Metrics/measures and SEO
    - Web training or equivalent work experience with web content development

The ideal candidate:
• Enjoys multi-tasking in a fast-paced, team environment
• Has a great interest in positive youth development in communities.
• Has a familiarity and understanding of content related to youth-related programs (juvenile justice, school-based programs, mentoring, youth service, community coalitions, workforce development, etc).
• Is able to present strategies to organize, link and tag web content to make it more effective for the user.

Education
Bachelor’s degree. Position requires a unique knowledge of youth and community system and Web development. Practical training/experience in youth-related programs is welcomed.
