Puget Lowland fault zones and basins

Geologic, aeromagnetic, paleomagnetic, gravity, high-resolution topographic, and seismic surveys are underway to document the geologic structure of the Puget Lowland, with emphasis on the geometry of sedimentary basins and the location, length, and history of potentially active faults. The gravity image below outlines crustal blocks and block-bounding fault zones beneath Puget Sound (block uplifts are red, sediment-filled basins blue, and fault zones shown by white dots).
