Jon's current work includes:
  • Magnetostratigraphic study of glacial drift deposits in the Puget Sound region (with Derek Booth, Kathy Troost, Rick Blakely, and others)
  • Paleomagnetic correlation of estuary deposits related to great earthquakes in the Pacific Northwest (with Brian Atwater and Brian Sherrod)
  • Construction of paleosecular variation reference curves for western North America and Hawaii (with Duane Champion, Rick Hoblitt, Cynthia Gardner, Dave Sherrod, and others)
  • Paleomagnetic identification of lava flows in the Columbia River Basalt aquifer, NW Oregon (with Ray Wells, Russ Evarts, Marv Beeson, Terry Tolan, and Al Niem)
  • Paleomagnetic correlation of lava flows in the Boring volcanic field (with Russ Evarts, Bob Fleck, and others)
