Current Activities

  • In situ millimeter-scale voltammetric pore water measurements of iron and sulfur in San Francisco Bay marsh sediment; characterization and quantification of sulfate-reducing bacteria; reactivity of mercury; carbon diagenesis.
  • Nucleation, crystal growth, and aggregation of mercury sulfide in the presence of natural organic matter and sulfide; synchrotron X-ray scattering and X-ray absorption spectroscopy; dynamic light scattering; UV spectroscopy; voltammetry.
