Interagency Coordination
FFRRO works with other federal agencies, primarily DoD and DOE, to coordinate initiatives related to cleanup of federal properties. These groups include the folllowing:
-
The Defense Environmental Response Task Force (DERTF) (4 pp, 38K) , which was created by Congress, works with FFRRO to provide recommendations on environmental restoration at Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) facilities.
The Environmental Management Advisory Board (EMAB), which provides a forum for representatives of EPA, academia, and private industry, works with FFRRO to research and discuss issues concerning DOE's Environmental Management Program.
The Federal Facilities Leadership Counsel (FFLC), a coordinating body within EPA, provides direction and leadership on federal facility cleanup efforts. The FFLC is a forum for addressing a wide spectrum of federal facility cleanup issues, including compliance, technical, enforcement, financial, budgeting, and legislative and political issues. The FFLC includes EPA Regional federal facility program and project managers, regional counsels, and Headquarters staff from FFRRO and FFEO.
