U.S., Russia Sign 10-Year MOU on International Cooperation

On June 26, Ambassador Nicholas Burns and First Deputy Minister Ruslan Khadzhismelovich Tsalikov of the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) signed a new, 10-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU recognizes the importance of continuing international cooperation in the field of emergency management. EMERCOM hopes to collaborate with USAID on disaster assistance issues, particularly in developing countries.
