Note: On September 25, 2007, the
U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear a case challenging the use of lethal injection.
In Baze v. Rees (No. 07-5439), the Supreme Court will consider
whether lethal injection constitutes cruel and unusual punishment as it
is currently implemented. No executions have been carried out since the
Supreme Court agreed to consider this issue. |
