Since 1942, regional offices of the Bureau of Labor Statistics have been the linchpin in promoting and carrying out Federal-State cooperative arrangements. Regional office personnel have played diverse roles, from assisting with surveys and new technology to training State staffs. This article profiles the regional office role and history in the operations of the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
