Secret Service Uniformed Division
|
Chapter 3 of Title 3 of the United States Code relates to the
Uniformed
Division of the U.S. Secret Service. The direction of the Uniformed
Division is
a responsibility of the Director of the Secret Service and it performs such
duties as the Director of the Secret Service may prescribe, including
protection
of any building in which Presidential offices are located. While the
Uniformed
Division could therefore be utilized anywhere Presidential offices are
situated,
the Secret Service has indicated that the primary responsibility of the
Uniformed
Division will be to insure adequate protection from demonstrations and other
large disturbances occurring in the Washington, D.C. area, particularly near
foreign diplomatic missions.
