Information Specialist
Kevin Mininger
Equipment Used
GPS
Purpose
Establish geologic character and units for mapping beach
and nearshore sand units in geologic map being developed for
Berrien County, MI identified from onshore and offshore mapping.
Identify, define and field check, geologic units that should extend
across the shoreline.
Information to be Derived
Location, thickness and character of beach and nearshore deposits to complete surficial geologic map
Summary
Visited 31 coastal sites and
obtained 52 global positioning system (GPS) fixes
on locations observations and geologic boundaries.
Notes
National coordination task in Regional Synthesis Project
(Berrien Co. Geologic Mapping Project,
also preliminary coastal observations for coastal and nearshore shoals
mapping in Northern Lake Michigan.
Got Help? For B-1-01-LM, we would appreciate any information on -- analog materials, contract, crew, days at sea, dive count, funding, kms of navigation, national plan, NGDC Info, owner, platform, project number, publications, scanned materials, seismic description, station count, station description, submersible, tabulated info.
