$9.7 Million Available for Treatment of Homeless

 
 

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) announces the availability of FY 2006 funds for development of programs that provide comprehensive drug, alcohol and mental health treatment systems for persons who are homeless.

It is expected that up to $9.7 million will be available to fund up to 25 awards in FY 2006. Annual awards are expected to be $400,000 per year in total costs for up to 5 years.

WHO CAN APPLY: Eligibility is restricted by statute to community-based public and private nonprofit entities. These entities include county governments, city or township governments, federally recognized tribes, state recognized tribes, urban Indian organizations, tribal organizations, community-based nonprofit organizations (including faith-based organizations), and community-based state entities, such as state colleges, universities and hospitals, that propose to provide services under this announcement to the community. States are not eligible to apply. Current Treatment for Homeless grantees are not eligible to apply under this funding announcement unless their grants end in 2006.

HOW TO APPLY: Applications for No TI-06-005 are available by calling SAMHSA’s clearinghouse at 1-800-729-6686, or by downloading from www.Grants.gov or www.samhsa.gov. Applicants are encouraged to apply on line using www.Grants.gov.
