Office of Economic Analysis:
Employment Opportunities

Working at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is extremely exciting and rewarding. As the principal advisor to the Commission on all economic issues, the Washington-based Office of Economic Analysis (OEA) actively engages issues of vital importance to the health of our markets and economy. We help the Commission adopt sensible rules, better enforce those rules, and most efficiently use its resources.

The Commission is seeking to broadly expand its capacity for high quality economic analyses. We must hire outstanding economists who are strongly interested in promoting the public good. Since our work often addresses novel issues, OEA economists publish frequently in top academic and practitioner journals. We strongly encourage speaking and publishing to disseminate our analyses and to develop the professional skills of our staff.

Whether you are interested in a highly rewarding career in the civil service, or simply a year of leave to pursue public service in the area of your professional expertise, consider joining us. We need experts in corporate finance and control, market microstructure, investment management, and litigation support. We offer active involvement in important issues in a dynamic and highly collegial environment.
