October 5-11 is National Nationally, 4-H will launch the first 4-H National Youth Science Day on October 8. To excite youth about science, 4-H has created an experiment and related activities to focus on science and water conservation. 4-H members and friends nationwide will conduct the experiment at local and state events to showcase 4-H science, engineering and technology (SET) programs. 4-H will also launch it's innovative, youth-oriented Web site at www.4-H.org. On Friday, seventeen new laureates will be inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fame. 4-H is the largest youth organization in the U.S. National 4-H Headquarters provides federal funding, national program leadership and policy guidance to the U.S. 4-H Youth Development Program. 4-H is a program within the Cooperative Extension System that is administered by USDA through land-grant universities in all states and territories. National 4-H Headquarters is the federal arm of a federal, state and county government partnership that supports 4-H in all 3,150 counties across the country. |
