Paralegal Specialists - USAID

OPEN PERIOD: Wednesday, August 27, 2008 to Tuesday, September 16, 2008.

The United States Agency for International Development, Office of the General Counsel, seeks two Paralegal Specialist, GS-9-12 ($48,108 - $90,698). One Paralegal will assist attorneys in appellate and trial litigation, bid protests and procurement matters. Responsibilities include: preparing, cite-checking, filing briefs and Agency reports; managing discovery documents and contract documents; performing legal research. The other Paralegal will assist attorneys on various international issues. Responsibilities include: assisting with international agreements and rulemaking, working with the Paperwork Reduction Act, Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act. Foreign Service Attorneys — USAID

The United States Agency for International Development, which implements the U.S. economic and humanitarian foreign assistance program, expects to have openings for Foreign Service attorneys during the next several months.

Applicants should have a minimum of 4 years of experience in private or government practice, of which at least one year should be specialized experience working as an attorney at a level close to that of this position. Prior overseas experience and foreign language skills are highly desirable. Corporate, transactional and/or government contracts experience a plus. Following an initial period in Washington, D.C., positions will require overseas assignment in developing countries. This may include assignment in one of the Agency's Critical Priority countries: Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan and Pakistan.

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and are member in good standing of the bar of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Depending on level of professional experience, starting salary range will be from $60,597.00 - $113,509.00 USD per year. Please mail, fax or email resume to:
