Advisory Committee on Disability Policy
Established on June 23, 2004, the Advisory Committee advises the
Secretary of State and the Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development
on issues related to persons with disabilities in the
formulation and implementation of U.S. foreign policy and foreign
assistance.
The Committee was established under the general authority of
the Secretary and the Department of State as set forth in Title 22 of
the United States Code, in particular Sections 2656 and 2651a, and in
accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act, as amended.
The Advisory Committee is made up of the Secretary of State, the
Administrator for International Development and an Executive Director
(all ex-officio members); and eight members from outside the United
States government: Senda Benaissa, Joni Eareckson
Tada, Vail Horton, John Kemp, Albert H. Linden, Jr., Kathleen Martinez,
and John Register.
