Don Coyhis is scheduled to speak on September 4th about Wellness and sobriety. He will be talking about the Medicine Wheel and 12 Steps teachings. On Saturday, we will serve all meals ,and on Sunday, we will serve breakfast and lunch.

On Saturday, September 25th all five Love4Life Homes will have an open house. Displays will be set up in each home showing history, how we work, all of those who help, Join Hands Day and all of the letters of Reccomendation to Love4Life. An overview of Love4Life Sober Living for women.

Third Annual "Recovery Rally"
Oklahoma City
This event will feature Don Coyhis and the "Sacred Hoop" Ceremony. We will honor children with awards for thier artwork displaying self portraits with the words "Recovery Comes in Many Faces." The Governor of Oklahoma has declared September as recovery month for Oklahoma with a Porclamation which will be displayed and read at the Rally by Secretary of State Susan Savage. We will have 21+ booths there including AA and NA to help bring awareness and education to the public. Food and Drinks will be provided. Finally, the Oklahoma Citizen Advocates for Recovery and Treatment Association (OCARTA) will be honoring Father Dick Virtue with the Third Senator Helen Cole Lifetime Achievement Award for the path that he has paved in Oklahoma for those seeking recovery and treatment. Native American Wellbriety Day Celebration-SAMHSA Sponsored
This event will be geared towards youth for the first part of the day. There will be face painting, Jumping Jupiter tents, volleyball, horseshoes, a possible relay run, crafts, a dunk tank and many more activities. There will be a live band during the day. Then Grand Entry for the Sobriety Powwow starts at 2:00. A feast is in store for in the evening.

Lakota Rose Video Viewing
On this night we will be showing the video "Tatanka Wijnyan", Buffalo Woman. This video is a documentary on a young girl, Lakota Rose, who struggled with drinking and gangs. The video talks about her life, her goals, and her murder. Lakota Rose is a youth program, sponsored by White Bison. The goal is to pull the community together to work with young people who are struggling with recovery and gang violence.

Celebrate Recovery
All county offices have been requested to do several activities throughtout the month of September. Collaborate with local TX center to provide inservice training with all Dept. of Human Service staff. All clients througout the state will receive an educational brochure for screening of substance abuse and help numbers should they need further help.
