City of Portland's Community Recovery and Health Resource Fair

City

Portland

Description

The City of Portlands Overdose Project is hosting the second annual Community Recovery and Health Resource Fair. The Overdose Prevention Project targets potential and active drug users by applying prevention strategies that include direct education and intervention, outreach, advocacy and support. We have continued to partner with other agencies to provide educational workshops and support services to the homeless community in an effort to help people make positive choices in their lives. On Wednesday, September 15, 2004, we will be holding the second annual Community Recovery and Health Resource Fair at the Preble Street Resource Center. This special event is being offered in conjunction with National Recovery Month and will inform and educate the participants about recovery-oriented resources and health services. One of our goals, as a committee and as members of the diverse Portland community is to create opportunities for people to get back on track and establish more stable lives.
