Each of the OSHA eTools consists of a series of Web pages specific to the product. In addition, each eTool may reference documents on the OSHA Web site (e.g., standards, directives, publications) or on other government sites. The downloadable version of each eTool is designed to provide access to these materials without the need to be connected to the Internet. A downloadable eTool represents materials on the Internet at the time it was created. Materials may have been updated after that date. Please consult the Internet for the most current information. Each downloadable eTool has been assembled with a Microsoft Windows installer program which requires Windows 95 or higher. Files are named using "long" file names. For this reason, downloadable eTools are generally not compatible with DOS, Windows 3.1, or other operating systems. Once installed, the eTool is designed to function with Netscape 4.0 and Internet Explorer 4.0 (or higher) browsers and a screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. The eTools utilize JavaScript. If your browser does not support JavaScript or it is not enabled, the eTool will not function properly. To download and install an eTool:
