1Enterprise support establishments are included in the 2002 data, not included in the 1997 data, affecting comparability for this industry.
2Data for 2002 in this table, unlike Table 1, exclude the following industries that were out of scope of the 1997 Economic Census to improve comparability: NAICS 54132 Landscape Architectural Services, 54194 Veterinary Services, 56173 Landscaping Services, and 81291 Pet Care (except Veterinary) Services.
The data in this table are based on the 2002 and 1997 economic censuses. Data for 2002 are preliminary and subject to change, and will be superseded by data released in later reports. The data in this table are based on the 2002 and 1997 economic censuses and contain non-sampling error. Economic census data are subject to nonsampling error due to nonresponse, coverage problems, misreporting, and processing error. Further, data for the Construction sector are subject to sampling errors, since these data originate from a survey that included all large employers and a sample of the smaller ones. Data users who create their own estimates using data from this report should cite the Census Bureau as the source of the original data only. For more information, see the introductory text.
