On October 11, 1999, Frank Manheim (USGS Reston/Woods Hole) met with Kim Hanson (student assistant), David Krantz (WRD, Delaware), Jim Black (Research Associate, Univ. Delaware, Newark) and Bill Ullman (Univ. Delaware, Lewes), who is Principal Investigator of the EPA-supported CISNET project. The participants reviewed data to be summarized in a poster that will be presented at a WRD national workshop in Lakewood, CO, from October 31 to November 4, 1999. The information base consists of (1) vibracore data retrieved from Ph.D. and M.S. theses, (2) Delaware Geological Survey core-hole data, and (3) a comprehensive bathymetric survey of Rehoboth and Indian River Bays from 1936, being digitized from microfilm maps by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia. Laura Hayes (WHFC/ECO) is assisting with GIS preparation.

Also discussed at the meeting was a horizontal resistivity streamer survey to be conducted in tandem with the planned seismic profiling of Rehoboth and Indian River Bays (John Madsen, Univ. Delaware). Dave Krantz and Frank Manheim, along with Jeff Wynn (EMRT, Reston) who will utilize newly developed equipment from the Zonge Corporation (Tucson, AZ), will conduct the resistivity survey.
