Expertise:
- Geomorphic change including that related landslides and floods
- Field data collection and interpretation, both above and below the surface
- Use of GIS to correlate analog data with digital data
- Manipulation of digital imagery/elevation models
Research Assignment:
- Seismic hazards mapping in the Midwest (focused on the St. Louis Area Earthquake Hazards Mapping Project, Missouri and Illinois)
Research Interests:
- Natural and man-made hazards including natural flooding, levee failures, dam failures, landslides, and land collapse
- Identification, mapping, analysis, and dating of paleomegalandslides within the Colorado Plateau Region of the United States

- Participated in 2005 NSF funded Independent Levee Investigation Team reconnaissance and subsurface sampling/data collection in New Orleans, LA following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita
- 2008-Present: Member of St. Louis Area Earthquake Hazards Mapping Project Team
