ILLEGAL ALIEN SENTENCED TO 84 MONTHS FOR CONSPIRING TO DISTRIBUTE MORE THAN 500 GRAMS OF COCAINE

Acting United States Attorney Julia C. Dudley announced today that German Cesiliano Reyes, age 26, a non-citizen of the United States in the country illegally, was sentenced today in United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia in Charlottesville for conspiring to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine.

“This sentence serves as a reminder that if you sell drugs in the Western District of Virginia, you will be brought to justice for your crimes,” Acting United States Attorney Julia C. Dudley said today. “I am grateful that as a result of this investigation three individuals who brought a significant amount of cocaine into our community are now in Federal prison.”

Reyes was sentenced today to serve 84 months of Federal incarceration to be followed by three years of supervised released thereafter. He, along with co-conspirators Jose Luis Lopez Rodriguez and Pedro Jimeniz Lopez, was indicted on November 28, 2007. Reyes pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to manufacture, distribute or possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture containing cocaine on January 31, 2008.

On February 28, 2008 Lopez and Rodriguez also both pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to manufacture, distribute or possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture containing cocaine. Both men are scheduled to be sentenced on June 9, 2008

The investigation of the case was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Blue Ridge Drug Task Force for the United States Attorney’s Office, Western District of Virginia. Assistant United States Attorney Rusty Fitzgerald and Special Assistant United States Attorney Ronald Huber prosecuted the case.
