RUSTBURG MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO ONE COUNT OF RECEIVING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

Acting United States Attorney Julia C. Dudley announced today that Charles Gregory Hollingsworth, age 39, of Rustburg, Virginia, pled guilty and was sentenced yesterday in the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia in Lynchburg for charges related to his receipt of child pornography.

“It is paramount that the United States Attorney’s Office does everything in its power to protect our children by investigating and prosecuting those individuals who trade in illicit material involving children,” Acting United States Attorney Julia C. Dudley said today.

Yesterday in District Court, Hollingsworth waived prosecution by indictment and instead pled guilty to a one-count information charging him with knowingly receiving child pornography. During the same proceeding, the defendant was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment to be followed by 15 years of supervised release.

According to evidence presented at yesterday’s hearing, when authorities searched Hollingsworth home, they found hundreds of images of child pornography

The investigation of the case was conducted by United States Postal Inspection Service . Assistant United States Attorney Nancy Healey prosecuted the case for the United States.
