Region 8 Water

EPA Region 8 is responsible for clean and safe surface water and ground water. Our goals are:

the Region's waters are safe for all people to drink and use for recreation, and
the quality of the Region's waters support the life that is expected to be in them.

We carry out the Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act and their regulations in partnership with the States and Tribes in Region 8. Region 8 is responsible for the drinking water program in Wyoming.

Achieving clean and safe depends on more than these laws. We encourage all public and private entities with a stake in clean and safe water to find ways together to protect and restore water quality by using the watershed approach.
