Friday, December 3, 2004 in Chicago, IL- The Conveners Meeting was the official launch of this collaborative effort. On this day, members of the President's Cabinet, the Great Lakes Governors, the Great Lakes Congressional delegation, Mayors, and Tribal leaders met and forged an intergovernmental partnership and officially voiced their support for a coordinated strategy to further protect and restore the Great Lakes. Maumee Bay, Ohio, February 22-23, 2005- This joint meeting of the GLRC Executive Committee and the co-chairs of the eight Strategy Teams focused on initial steps to develop a draft of the GLRC Strategy

Duluth, MN, July 7-8, 2005- The draft Great Lakes Restoration and Protection Strategy was released at Summit I. Following release, the Strategy content was made available for public comment.
