Public Comment Period Announced - Solvent Recovery Corporation TSCA Commercial Storage Application, Kansas City, Missouri

INTRODUCTION

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 7, is submitting the Solvent Recovery Corp. Toxic Substances Control Act Commercial Storage Application and solicits public comments and offers the opportunity for a public hearing.  The application is submitted by EPA for comment as part of its PCB commercial storage application review process.  EPA, in consultation with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, will review all comments and consider if the application can be approved following the comment period.

BACKGROUND

The Solvent Recovery site, 700 Mulberry St., Kansas City, Mo., handles and stores hazardous wastes and proposes to modify Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Permit #MOD 000 610 766 to include storage of PCB materials before they are sent for proper disposal.

PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND REQUEST FOR PUBLIC HEARING

EPA is accepting comments and requests for a public hearing for 30 days beginning Jan. 30, 2007.  Comments must be received by March 1, 2007.  The agencies will review all comments upon completion of the public comment period and determine if any modification to the application should be made.
