Welcome
to the Corvallis Research Group of the USGS Forest and Rangeland
Ecosystem Science Center. This group provides scientific research
and technology in support of information needs of the Bureau of
Land Management, National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service,
and numerous other research partners in the western United States.
Research capabilities include forest ecology, rangeland ecology,
wildlife biology, aquatic and wetland ecology, conservation genetics,
contaminants, and others. Scientists with the Corvallis Research
Group assist managers to address critical management issues with
state-of-the-art science as part of the larger mission of the USGS.
The USGS serves the nation by providing reliable scientific
information to describe and understand the Earth; minimize loss
of life and property from natural disasters; manage water, biological,
energy, and mineral resources; and enhance and protect our quality
of life.
