(Dallas, Texas – December 28, 2007) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $60,000 to the Tonkawa Tribe’s Water Pollution Control Program. The tribe will use the funds for its watershed management program by assessing changes in a series of surface-water samples. Data from these samples will illustrate any changes in the condition of the tribe's water quality, and determine the functions and health of the stream ecosystem and whether the tribe’s water quality is sufficient.
