The levels of lead detected in the thirteen soil samples collected at Odile Davis Playground were below LDEQ’s RECAP screening level of 400 mg/kg. The levels of lead detected in the fourteen sediment samples collected at the Sam Bonart Playspot were below LDEQ’s RECAP screening level of 400 mg/kg. Lead was detected above RECAP in two of the eleven soil samples from the F.P. Jackson Playspot at 587 mg/kg and 772 mg/kg. Although the levels of lead in these samples exceed RECAP, they are consistent with lead levels reported in studies conducted prior to the hurricanes.
70118 – Audubon Park
Lead was detected above RECAP in two of the twenty-seven soil samples from Audubon Park at 441 mg/kg and 1390 mg/kg. The LDEQ RECAP screening level for lead is 400 mg/kg. Although the levels of lead in these samples exceed RECAP, they are consistent with lead levels reported in studies conducted prior to the hurricanes.
70119 – Comiskey Playground, Henry Co Desmare Playground and Stallings Gentilly Playground
The levels of lead detected in the eighteen soil samples collected at Comiskey Playground were below LDEQ’s RECAP screening level of 400 mg/kg. Lead was detected above RECAP in one of the twenty soil samples collected at Henry Co Desmare Playground at 407 mg/kg, and in two of the eleven soil samples collected at Stallings Gentilly Playground at 441 mg/kg and 923 mg/kg. Although the levels of lead in these samples exceed RECAP, they are consistent with lead levels reported in studies conducted prior to the hurricanes.
70122 – Mittenberger Playspot, Saint James Playground and Alexander Milne Playground
Eleven sediment samples were collected at Mittenberger Playspot. Three sediment and eleven soil samples were collected at Saint James Playground. Seventeen soil samples were collected at Alexander Milne Playground. The levels of lead detected in each of the forty-two samples collected were below LDEQ’s RECAP screening level of 400 mg/kg.
70125 – Taylor Park and Norwood Thompson Playground
The levels of lead detected in the fourteen soil samples collected at Norwood Thompson Playground were below LDEQ’s RECAP screening level of 400 mg/kg. Lead was detected above RECAP in seven of the seventeen soil samples collected at Taylor Park at levels ranging from 418 mg/kg to 1020 mg/kg. Although the levels of lead in these samples exceed RECAP, they are consistent with lead levels reported in studies conducted prior to the hurricanes.
70126 – Schabel Playspot, Peace Playground, Fred Digby Playground and Werner Playground
The levels of lead detected in the forty-nine soil samples collected at Peace Playground, Fred Digby Playground and Werner Playground were below LDEQ’s RECAP screening level of 400 mg/kg. Lead was detected above RECAP in two of the eleven soil samples collected at Schabel Playspot at 583 mg/kg and 967 mg/kg. Although the levels of lead in these samples exceed RECAP, they are consistent with lead levels reported in studies conducted prior to the hurricanes.
70127 – Goretti Playground and Wimbledon Playspot
The levels of lead detected in the twenty-nine soil samples collected at Goretti Playground and Wimbledon Playspot were below LDEQ’s RECAP screening level of 400 mg/kg.
