FMCSA Web Site Redesigned with You in Mind

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is pleased to unveil the redesigned FMCSA Web site.

Months of intensive planning and several rounds of usability studies, testing and feedback have resulted in a much improved, user-friendly Web site design. Now, fewer clicks are required to access our most popular content.

Highlights of the new features include:

  • Better organization and presentation of content
Usability studies included truck and bus drivers, safety and regulation experts, association staff, and other core members of the motor carrier industry from large motor carriers to owner-operators. Based on this research and feedback, we designed the Web site to provide users with quick, one-click access to the most sought-after information. Home page links lead directly to hot topics, important information and new content. Folder tabs lead to logically organized overview pages that allow for quick scanning and navigation.
  • More powerful and effective search engine
The FMCSA search engine is now powered by Google, a highly regarded Internet search tool. This tool searches across FMCSA’s Web sites for the information requested.

FMCSA expects that users will now spend less time to find more information. Feel free to peruse the redesigned site, and watch for more improvements as we continue to meet our users’ needs.
