National Engineering Services is proud of its commitment to improving its Chicago community by providing cost effective energy management practices to its customers. Towards this end, National was recently involved in the building of a new addition to the Sikh Religious Temple. The Temple added water saving taps, photo control switches, motion control switches and high efficiency HVAC system. The Temple made sure that it used only energy efficient lighting by installing fluorescent fixtures and high intensity metal hallide fixtures. Finally, the Temple is now completing the placement of hot water pipe and roof insulation for all classrooms and corridors.

The Temple has profited from its energy savings measures with a 12% estimated annual savings in both maintenance and utility costs. The Temple has calculated that these savings will come from the installation of water, heating, lighting, insulation and energy efficient motors and the leakage-proof building frame. This volunteer work for the church and annual savings has been a great benefit to the church community. The Temple says that the economical and energy efficient design models were greatly appreciated by their Board of Trustees.

The Sikh Religious Temple believes that the accumulation of small savings in systems design encourage affordable systems for people and increase the quality of life for all. Their motto is: “Improvement of quality of life through economic models with energy efficient designs results in long term costs savings.” The Temple remains committed to increased energy efficiency of its facility and is planning more upgrades in future stages.
