A small fishing village near the Senegal River. This is one of the study sites for an FAO (UN) sponsored project coordinated by IPPC that is investigating the fate and behavior of pesticides and the human and environmental risks associated with these chemicals. Methods developed within this project should feed back to the Pacific Northwest, where pesticide contamination of surface waters is also a concern.
