SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE FOUNDATIONS (SHF)
This program seeks to support fundamental research in advancing the capability of computing systems.
The combined power of the software and hardware of these systems enables new, possibly unforeseen
applications of computing systems. At the same time, new and emerging technologies require continued
advances in software and hardware foundations.
Topical areas include: Computer Architecture; High-Performance Computing; Programming Languages;
Software Engineering; Formal Methods and Design Automation; and Bio and Nanocomputing
