UST/LUST Program Status In Alaska

Alaska has not yet been granted state program approval (SPA). Washington is the only state in Region 10 that has an approved program.

Number of confirmed releases 2,305 (national total: 479,817)
Number of cleanups completed 1,788 (national total: 377,019)
Number of cleanups in backlog to be completed 517 (national total: 102,798)

Percent of facilities in significant operational compliance with:
Release prevention requirements 70%
Release detection requirements 72%
Both prevention and release detection requirements 55%
