GED Scientists Provide Technical Transfer of Web-ICE at SETAC Europe Annual Meeting
Sandy Raimondo, NHEERL GED, taught a short course on the use and application of the Web-ICE application at the annual meeting of the European chapter of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), held in Warsaw Poland, May 25-29. Web-ICE is an Internet-based modeling application that allows interspecies extrapolation of acute toxicity data. Participants in the short course learned about
- the background of ICE models,
- details of ICE database development and quality assurance,
- model development,
- model validation and uncertainty,
- the use of Web-ICE, and
- the application of Web-ICE output in ecological risk assessment
