Talladega, Alabama – Talladega College will host its annual Christmas concert on Sunday, November 30th at 5:00 p.m. The concert will be held on the front lawn of Sumner Hall. This year’s event will not only feature the College’s world renowned choir, but also the lighting of the campus Christmas tree.
The choir, which is under the direction of Dr. Lindy G. McLeod, will perform several holiday classics from the “Carol Medley,” to the “Hallelujah Chorus.” Talladega College President Dr. Billy C. Hawkins is excited about this holiday musical event.
“This is an opportunity for the entire community to come together to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas” Hawkins said. “Through music and song, our choir will usher us all into the holiday spirit.”
Following the concert, the Talladega College Student Government Association along with Dr. Hawkins will hold the lighting of the Christmas tree. The beautiful pine will be lit with hundreds of lights, and feature decorations from students, and members of the Talladega College faculty and staff.
A holiday reception will be held in the Fanning Refectory immediately following the concert and tree lighting.
