Gary Klein Named New Policy Office ChiefGSA #10550 October 17, 2008 WASHINGTON — The U.S. General Services Administration today announced that Gary Klein has been named head of GSA’s Office of Governmentwide Policy (OGP), effective immediately. “Gary is a legislative and strategic leader – qualities that will help our governmentwide policy office achieve its critical mission,” said Acting Administrator Jim Williams. As OGP Associate Administrator, Mr. Klein will direct an office responsible for developing and evaluating policies for management of the federal government's internal operations such as acquisition, management and disposal of products and services as well as internal management processes, i.e. travel and the use of information technology and electronic commerce. “With a new administration coming to town, I hope to be able to make the transition as smooth as possible,” said Mr. Klein. “It will be an exciting time and I look forward to contributing to a successful change of administration.” Prior to his appointment, Mr. Klein most recently served as Senior Vice President of Government, Legal and Regulatory Affairs for the Toy Industry Association in Washington, D.C. Prior to 2003, he served as Vice President, Government and Legal Affairs to the Consumer Electronics Association. Mr. Klein received a law degree from The George Washington University and pursued postgraduate law study in corporate and international business transactions from Harvard Law School. ### GSA provides a centralized delivery system of products and services to the federal government, leveraging its enormous buying power to get the best value for taxpayers.
