Dawson Chosen to Head GSA's Southeast Sunbelt RegionGSA # 10453 February 19, 2008 WASHINGTON — The U.S. General Services Administration today announced the selection of South Carolina native Craig G. Dawson as Regional Administrator for GSA’s Southeast Sunbelt Region. The position is effective today. “I’m very glad Craig has joined us, “ said Administrator Lurita Doan. “His experience as president of a private sector company and roots in the region will be especially valuable to GSA and our Southeast Sunbelt Region.” In his role as principal executive of the region, Mr. Dawson will head a GSA workforce of nearly 1,000 employees across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. The Southeast Sunbelt Region has the largest construction/renovation program among GSA regions with a total workload valued at $1.7 billion in capital projects, $33 million in minor repair and alteration projects and $373 million in reimbursable projects. “I am honored to be given this opportunity to serve the administration, Administrator Doan and the wonderful employees at GSA,” said Mr. Dawson. “I look forward to being a part of this great organization.” Prior to joining GSA, Mr. Dawson served as president of Central Carolina Distributor Inc., a warehouse distributor of AC-Delco automotive parts in Columbia, S.C.
