St. Louis Park Public Schools has assessed the energy performance of all of its schools and undertaken improvements, achieving a 10 percent improvement compared to its 2004 baseline in 2006 and a 75 or better portfolio-wide energy performance rating in 2008. A partnership with the Schools for Energy Efficiency" (SEE) program has saved the district $272,906 in utility costs over the last two years by adopting no- and low-cost strategies. The district realized these savings by educating staff and students about important behavioral changes in energy use, performing lighting retrofits, and adjusting temperature set points. In addition, St. Louis Park Public Schools showed its commitment to energy efficiency by adopting a district-wide energy policy in February 2006.
