Cooling: Cool Your World

From Memorial Day through Labor Day each year, ENERGY STAR retail, manufacturer, and utility partners collaborate on a national campaign to encourage homeowners to stay comfortable, save energy and money, and protect the environment by cooling their homes smartly with products that have earned the ENERGY STAR.

The links below will take you to fact sheets, retail training materials, and other tools related to the products included in the campaign. These resources are designed to help you, your staff, and your vendors convey to consumers all the benefits of purchasing products that have earned the ENERGY STAR.

  • Ceiling Fans — Qualified ceiling fans with lights are about 50% more efficient than conventional fan/light units, saving you more than $15 per year in energy costs.
  • Dehumidifiers — A 40-pint ENERGY STAR qualified dehumidifier can save consumers $28 per year. Over the life of the unit, that's more than $300 in savings.
  • Programmable Thermostats — With proper use, programmable thermostats can save consumers about $150 per year in energy costs.
  • Room Air Conditioners — Qualified air conditioners must be at least 10% more energy efficient than the minimum federal standard.
  • Ventilating Fans — ENERGY STAR qualified ventilating fans use more than 70% less energy than standard models.
