Educational Service District 101 (ESD 101), with assistance from School District 81, will partner with Eastern Washington University to provide an immersion in local, regional, and national history to 8th and 9th grade history teachers in both the rural and urban areas of economically distressed Eastern Washington. Content rich classes will include living history field trips, primary source research, problem solving and active learning to both excite teachers and prepare them to provide quality instruction in the classroom. The project will develop a partnership between rural and urban schools to help these schools improved American History education.
