Program Director Position
The Division of Engineering Education and Centers (EEC), Directorate for Engineering, is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Program Director. EEC supports Engineering Research Centers (ERC), Nanoscale Science and Engineering Centers (NSECs), and the Network for Computational Nanotechnology (NCN), and a range of educational programs. The person selected would serve as the coordinator for the oversight of six NSECs, the lead program officer for selected NSECs and one or more ERCs. EEC is searching for a person who has expertise in nanoscience and technology complemented by experience in integrating an engineering discipline with biology. The announcement is available here.
Upcoming EEC Program Deadlines
The Proposal Deadline for the Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) in Engineering program is November 17, 2008. The Directorate for Engineering (ENG), Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) in Engineering program supports the active involvement of K-12 teachers and community college faculty in engineering research in order to bring knowledge of engineering and technological innovation into their classrooms. The goal is to help build long-term collaborative partnerships between K-12 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) teachers, community college faculty, and the NSF university research community by involving the teachers in engineering research and helping them translate their research experiences and new knowledge of engineering into classroom activities.
