Functional Statement

The Office of the Assistant Administrator for Pesticides and Toxic Substances has responsibility for Agency strategies for implementation and integration of the pollution prevention, pesticides and toxic substances programs and developing and operating Agency programs and policies for assessment and control of pesticides and toxic substances as well as recommending policies and developing operating programs for implementing the Pollution Prevention Act. It is responsible for developing recommendations for Agency priorities for research, monitoring regulatory and information gathering activities relating to implementing the Pollution Prevention Act, pesticides and toxic substances; and monitoring and assessing pollution prevention, pesticides and toxic substances program operations in EPA Headquarters and Regional Offices.
